Four things we hold to
Built for the 2026 rules.
Since January 1, 2026, the AIM Act leak-repair rule covers appliances with 15 lb or more of HFC refrigerant, with leak-rate triggers of 10, 20 and 30 percent. Residential and light commercial air conditioners and heat pumps are excluded. Questions on these changes carry a 2026 badge.
Every answer names its source.
Tap a regulation source to read the exact eCFR paragraph it cites, stored in the app (eCFR as of September 18, 2026), so you can check the answer yourself, even offline.

Questions people ask
Is the app free?
Free to start. In the Free tab you can try every study mode on sample questions, and you get 10 free questions a day from a set of 50, plus one free Core mock exam. What changed in 2026, the certification guide and two examples each from the summary cards, the pressure-temperature chart, numbers to remember and the glossary are free too. A weekly or monthly plan unlocks all 1,100 questions, every study mode, unlimited mock exams including the Universal mock, the full pressure-temperature chart, all 12 summary cards, the study plan and stats. Plans renew automatically until you cancel in Google Play.
How do the plans work?
Full access is a weekly or monthly plan bought through Google Play. It renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time in Google Play under Subscriptions. After you cancel, full access stays until the end of the period you paid for. Your progress stays on your phone either way.
How does the study plan work?
Set your exam date and the app works out how many new questions a day it takes to see every question before the exam. Questions you miss come back as retries, up to 10 a day, and the last days before the exam, up to three, are full practice exams. If the days are too few, the plan tells you how far it reaches. The study plan is part of the weekly and monthly plans.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Everything runs on the device, including the regulation text behind the answers. There is no account and nothing to sync.
Do you collect any data?
The app itself collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics and no ads, your progress stays on your phone, and the optional daily reminder is scheduled on the phone itself. The only data that leaves the phone goes to Google, through Google Play's own features in the app: purchases, the optional rating prompt and update checks. The purchase service also sends Google technical logs, such as whether a request succeeded. The privacy policy has the details.
Does it cover the 2026 leak-repair rules?
Yes. Questions reflect the rules in force since January 1, 2026, and 2026 changes are marked with a badge in the app.
Which exam sections are covered?
Core, Type I, Type II and Type III: 1,100 questions in all (Core 300, Type I 250, Type II 300, Type III 250).
Is StudyRig affiliated with the EPA?
No. StudyRig is an independent publisher and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. EPA or any certification provider.
